Summer EBT/SUN Bucks

Summer EBT (also known as SUN Bucks) is a new program in summer 2024 to help families buy food for their school-aged children during the summer months. Families will receive $120 for each eligible child. Children who receive Summer EBT/SUN Bucks can still participate in other summer meal programs, and receiving Summer EBT does not affect children or families’ immigration status.

Many eligible families will not have to take any action to be enrolled in the program if they are receiving other benefits, but some families may need to apply for the program. If your student receives SNAP, Ohio Works First cash assistance, free or reduced price meals, and/or is a Medicaid member earning 185% FPL or less, your students will be automatically enrolled in the Summer EBT program and you do not need to fill out an application.

If your student will not be automatically enrolled based on the above criteria, but you believe your children are eligible, you can apply for Summer EBT. For more information on if your student is eligible and to submit an application, if needed, visit SEBT.ohio.gov.
