Advocates for Ohio’s Future is pleased to welcome Kelly Smith, State Program and Policy Director for the Mental Health and Addiction Advocacy Coalition, to the coalition’s Executive Committee as an At-Large member. Kelly has been a member of the AOF Steering Committee for two years, and leadership and staff look forward to continuing to work with her to improve the lives of all Ohioans in her new role.
Kelly began her career as a Legislative Aide at the Ohio House of Representatives where she worked on shaping health policy. This experience broadened her ability to successfully advocate on many issues. She helped defeat the Healthy Ohio Program that would have resulted in a reduction of the number of individuals on the Medicaid program. Her focus continues on ensuring access, workforce, and capacity is strengthened in the Behavioral Health Redesign.
Kelly is a strong advocate and continues to provide proven leadership for planning and developing public policy strategies to improve the lives of those affected by mental illnesses and addiction disorders.
