Ohio’s communities thrive when everyone feels safe, has a good job and can afford the basics. Unfortunately, a job doesn’t always mean a living and families across the state aren’t making enough to get by.
AOF’s updated OhioSPEAKS county pages show that over the last 10 years, family incomes have declined while the cost of the basics, including food, gas, housing, child care, health care and education have gone up making it difficult for many families to make ends meet.
We encourage you to share and discuss your county’s fact sheet with your state lawmakers and local advocates in your community. When you talk with people, we hope you’ll highlight that public investments in government support programs benefit all Ohioans.
