Webinar focuses on what's at stake for Ohioans in need Read more news...

If you missed yesterday's webinar on federal deficit reduction and what's at stake for Ohioans in need, materials are now available to learn and share about this critical issue.

The webinar — entitled “Federal Deficit-Reduction Deal: What’s at stake for Ohioans in need?” — featured five AOF partners:

  • Lisa Hamler-Fugitt, Executive Director of the Ohio Association of Second Harvest Foodbanks
  • Luke Russell, Associate State Director for Advocacy, AARP Ohio
  • Cathy Levine, Executive Director of UHCAN Ohio and Co-Chair of Ohio Consumers for Health Coverage
  • Deborah Nebel, Director of Public Policy, Linking Employment, Ability, and Potential
  • Wendy Patton, Senior Associate with Policy Matters Ohio
  • Will Petrik, Outreach Director with Advocates for Ohio’s Future

Each of the advocates stressed the need to reach out to Ohio’s Congressional delegation and participate in a statewide call-in day on September 28 to Senator Portman to make sure the deficit-reduction plan does not increase poverty or income inequality.
